Average Price of a Wedding Photographer in the UK
Average Price of Photography Packages
It can be overwhelming looking for a wedding photographer. So many different styles, different price ranges, different wedding packages and types of cameras. I have made this blog in the hope that it will help bride and grooms with their wedding photographer search and why I believe I am the best option for you especially if you are looking for a documentary wedding photographer.
Here is a quick breakdown of rough pricing structures and what to expect from a wedding photographer charging at that price point. Wedding photography is arguably one of the most important aspects of your wedding day and it is definitely worth investing into wedding photography. Your special day will only be captured once so it is very important to get the right photographer for you and your budget. However, budget will have an influence on the experience level and quality of your photographer. As a general rule of thumb, the more the photographer charges generally means they are most experiences and believe their work is worth more.
Average Prices for Wedding photographers and their experience levels.
£0 - £500 - Amateur, friend or family, student or just starting out
£500 - £1000 - Budget photographer - sometimes these offers seem too good to be true
£1000 - £1700 - Semi-professional/budget photographer - almost a full-time pro with experience of weddings
+ £1700 - Experienced and professional photographer - They have been in the wedding industry for a while and are very experienced. Most likely full-time and creative.
Most experienced and professional wedding photographers cost between £1700 - £2500 for a full-day of wedding photography. Wedding photographers charging anything above £1700 will be highly experienced and completely competent to cope with any situation thrown at them.
Don't be fooled by the packages that seem too good to be true! Sometimes wedding photographers who charge a very low price have some hidden costs. For example: some wedding photographers charge a base fee for their time and then charge an additional fee for an images you want to download. Every wedding photographer is different so it is worth knowing exactly what you're getting before your put down a deposit.

DOCUMENTARY
WEDDING
PHOTOGRAPHY
I photograph weddings in a documentary style, which means I capture the moments of your special day in a natural and unobtrusive way. I believe the best photos always come when people are unaware of the camera and are 100% themselves.
Weddings should be a celebration for the bride and groom and not a long boring photo shoot. I like to blend into the day as much as possible and hopefully I will feel like one of your guests.
I won’t be showing up with multiple tripods, huge telephoto lenses or light stands. Instead, I carry just two Canon cameras attached to each hip, allowing me to stay lightweight and move swiftly to capture all the natural moments of your wedding.
All I ask is that you and your wedding party enjoy yourselves! I will make sure I am in the right place at the right time to capture all the action at your wedding!
