Weddings in Tuscany!

Why I love Italy as a Destination Wedding Photographer!

Tuscany isn’t just beautiful—it’s one of the most popular regions in Italy and Europe for destination weddings, and for good reason.

One of the most desirable aspects—and arguably the most important for a wedding—is the climate. Tuscany enjoys a mild Mediterranean climate all year round, making it an ideal location for a destination wedding. Spring and autumn are the best seasons, offering pleasant temperatures, dry days, and stunning golden sunsets.

Tuscany is home to some of the best wine and cuisine in Europe. Indulge in local delicacies like Ribollita, Bistecca alla Fiorentina, and truffle-infused dishes. Who doesn’t love Italian food?

Getting to Tuscany is easy. If you’re traveling from the UK, you can fly directly to airports in Pisa and Florence. Once you land, most of the region is accessible within a two-hour drive. Italy also has a reliable railway network, so if you’re not keen on driving, why not take the train?

Capturing Your Wedding in Tuscany

Like all destination weddings, I love to arrive a few days early and stay a day or two after your wedding. This gives me plenty of time to capture any pre- or post-wedding celebrations, helping to tell the full story of your Tuscany wedding.

I aim to make all your friends and family feel comfortable, so I feel more like a friend with a camera rather than a stranger asking you to pose. I’ll take the time to get to know you and your guests, making sure you feel relaxed in front of the camera. Hopefully, you’ll even start to forget I’m there!

Why Choose a UK photographer to take abroad?

Whilst you can book a local photographer in the country you're getting married in. Sometimes this may cause some hiccups later down the line such as language barriers, clash in style of photography and less of a personal connection. The advantage of a documentary wedding photographer from the UK is you have the opportunity to communicate multiples times before the big day. So you know exactly what to expect and also build up a great connection with your photographer. For these reasons you might want to consider booking a UK destination Wedding Photographer. It is also very affordable as I only charge an additional £500 on top of my full-day package to cover all my travel expenses.

Are you feeling inspired by the weddings on this page? It might be worth checking out my work as a Valencia Wedding Photographer, or this incredible wedding in Malaga!

“Tom was the best choice we could dream of for our wedding in Valencia, Spain. Reliable, professional and skillful. Great taste and every single photography provided was just awesome. He can work on his own without a big team as he knows exactly what he has to do. Couldn’t recommend him enough!!!!”

PHOTOGRAPHY

IN TUSCANY

I photograph weddings in a documentary style, capturing the moments of your special day in a natural and unobtrusive way. I believe the best photos happen when people are unaware of the camera and are 100% themselves.

Weddings should be a celebration, not a long and exhausting photo shoot. I prefer to blend into the day, capturing moments as they unfold, so I feel more like a guest than a photographer

You won’t see me setting up multiple tripods, huge telephoto lenses, or light stands. Instead, I carry two lightweight Canon cameras, allowing me to move quickly and capture all the natural moments of your wedding.

All I ask is that you and your wedding party enjoy yourselves! I’ll ensure I’m in the right place at the right time to capture all the action.

Popular Places to Get Married in Tuscany

Tuscany is home to some of the most iconic Italian provinces, including Pisa, Lucca, Siena, Arezzo, Grosseto, Livorno, Massa-Carrara, Pistoia, and Prato. Of course, the most notable is Florence—the capital of Tuscany and the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance. People travel from all over the world to visit these incredible provinces and cities.

Many wedding venues in the Florence province are located outside the city, on scenic hilltops. Some offer breathtaking views of the city, including the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore. Lucca, historically the wealthiest city in Tuscany, is one of my personal favorites. Its narrow cobbled streets and surrounding countryside make it a dream setting for weddings. Lucca also has stunning villas in the countryside just outside the city walls.

Tuscany offers countless idyllic wedding venues, from grand castles and rustic farmhouses to elegant villas and breathtaking vineyards. Contact me if you are looking to get married at one of these stunning venues! Here are a few incredible venues to consider:

Castello Di Banfi

Borgo Sant'Ambrogio

Borgo San Felice

Castiglion Del Bosco

Borgo Corsignano

Villa La Foce

Villa Le Fontanelle
