MY FAVOURITE IMAGES FROM WILDERNESS WEDDINGS

Here are a few of my favourite images from Lucy & Beth’s wedding at Wilderness Weddings. You could really feel how much love there is for Lucy and Beth through the incredible speeches, so many kind, funny, and heartfelt words were shared. (Also, during the speeches, a wasp decided to crawl down my shirt and sting me on the back! So if any guests saw me run out of the marquee in a panic, that’s why!) Spicy margaritas during the Treehouse DJ set got everyone ready for the dancefloor. What a party!

Wilderness is the Perfect Wedding Venue

Wilderness is located just outside Canterbury, which has great transport connections throughout Kent.

They have three different ceremony locations to choose from. The Boathouse, which overlooks the Wilderness Pond, is ideal for larger wedding parties. The Naked Tipi has a very rustic feel, with amazing views overlooking the pond and water meadows. The Treehouse is designed for intimate weddings of up to 40 guests and offers incredible views over the meadows. It’s also a fantastic spot to host a raised DJ set and enjoy a woodland party before heading to the dancefloor in the Giant Big Hat Tipi.

The Giant Big Hat Tipi is the perfect rustic space for your wedding breakfast and evening celebrations. It’s located in the Woodland Glade, overlooking the beautiful water meadows, and provides a completely different setting and atmosphere. This venue offers so much variety, and you really feel close to nature here.

Firstly, what makes this venue so unique is its location. The Wilderness feels like it’s in the middle of nowhere, but it’s only a short drive from Canterbury. When you enter the venue, you take a long drive down a country road to reach the car park. You’re then greeted with the most incredible view of vast wildflower meadows and distant views of Stodmarsh Nature Reserve. This venue truly makes you feel like you’re in a wild national park.

The boathouse provides a unique take on a ceremony venue. It fits perfectly into the Wilderness’s rustic vibe, which creates a beautiful feel throughout the images.

The vast water meadows are the perfect location for intimate couple portraits. By taking the couple away from the Woodland Glade and into the meadow, you also get the most amazing golden-hour light for romantic and elegant images. I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed that you get a stunning sunset on your wedding day.

DOCUMENTARY

WEDDING

PHOTOGRAPHY

I photograph weddings in a documentary style, which means I capture the moments of your special day in a natural and unobtrusive way. I believe the best photos always come when people are unaware of the camera and are 100% themselves.

Weddings should be a celebration for the bride and groom and not a long boring photo shoot. I like to blend into the day as much as possible and hopefully I will feel like one of your guests.

I won’t be showing up with multiple tripods, huge telephoto lenses or light stands. Instead, I carry just two Canon cameras attached to each hip, allowing me to stay lightweight and move swiftly to capture all the natural moments of your wedding.

All I ask is that you and your wedding party enjoy yourselves! I will make sure I am in the right place at the right time to capture all the action at your wedding!
