Documentary-Style Wedding Photography for Couples Who Want to Enjoy Their Day Without a Long Photoshoot.

First of all, huge congratulations on your engagement! It’s exciting to see that you are planning your wedding in Italy. I created this page to make your search for an Italy wedding photographer even easier.

Hi! My name is Tom, and I am a destination wedding photographer who travels to Italy to photograph weddings. I was born in the UK, but Italy holds a special place in my heart. I’ve been visiting this incredible country since I was young, spending holidays here with my family. I love everything about Italy—its culture, charm, diverse landscapes, and of course, the delicious food. There’s so much to adore about this country, and I have no doubt you will fall in love with it even more once you decide to get married here.

Couples who book me to document their destination weddings want to capture genuine, authentic moments with minimal posing or interference. I love photographing people as they truly are—enjoying themselves and having fun at their wedding in Italy. If you love documentary-style photography and want your wedding in Italy beautifully captured, contact me.

FEATURED PHOTOS FROM WEDDINGS IN ITALY

I have been very fortunate to have photographed a handful of weddings in Italy assisting the amazing photographer Olly Knight. Here are some images from the weddings in Tuscany and Rome!

Italy is one of the most popular wedding destinations in Europe, especially for UK couples. Its popularity comes from its vast selection of stunning wedding venues and its warm climate year-round. Whether you're dreaming of a vineyard wedding in the heart of the Tuscan countryside, a luxury villa on the shores of Lake Como, an intimate elopement with the Dolomites as your backdrop, or a romantic castle wedding in the heart of Rome, Italy truly has everything you could want for your special day.

Weddings in Italy can also be surprisingly affordable and, in some cases, even cheaper than getting married in the UK. If you're planning a wedding abroad in Italy, I charge the same full-day package rate, with only an additional £500 to cover my travel expenses.

One of the most desirable aspects of getting married in Italy is the climate. Tuscany, for example, enjoys a mild Mediterranean climate year-round, making it an ideal destination wedding location. Spring and autumn are the best seasons, offering pleasant temperatures, dry days, and breathtaking golden sunsets.

I don't just photograph weddings in Italy—I work across Italy and beyond as a destination wedding photographer. Check out my destination wedding photography page to see more of my work from weddings abroad.

Why You Should Get Married in Italy!

Why I love Italy as a Destination Wedding Photographer!

Italy is a dream destination for weddings, and as a photographer, I couldn’t ask for a better place to photograph.

Breathtaking Scenery - Italy’s landscapes are simply stunning. From the rolling hills of Tuscany and the dramatic cliffs of the Amalfi Coast to the romantic canals of Venice and the historic streets of Rome—everywhere you look, there’s beauty. I love incorporating the stunning Italian scenery into my wedding images.

Amazing Light and Weather - I embrace all weather conditions to capture natural moments, there’s something special about a sunny wedding day. It seems to put everyone in a good mood. With Italy’s warm Mediterranean climate, you’re almost guaranteed sunshine throughout the year. When you have clear skies, you also get breathtaking sunsets—perfect for golden-hour couple shoots. I love to lower my aperture during golden hour to get a creamy blurred background and isolate the couple in the frame.

Incredible Food and Wine - I’m a sucker for authentic Carbonara and an Aperol Spritz. Italian cuisine is my absolute favorite, and experiencing it at weddings is a big bonus.

Capturing Your Wedding in Italy

Like all destination weddings, I love to arrive a few days early and stay a day or two after your wedding. This allows me to capture pre- and post-wedding celebrations, ensuring I tell the full story of your wedding in Italy.

I capture your wedding day from start to finish—from early morning preparations to the party in the evening, and everything in between. I don’t put a time limit on my coverage, ensuring you get authentic, relaxed, and natural moments throughout the entire day.

I strive to make your friends and family feel comfortable in front of the camera. My goal is to feel more like a friend with a camera rather than a stranger asking you to pose all the time. I take the time to get to know you, so you feel completely at ease. Eventually, you might even forget I’m there.

Why Choose a UK photographer to take abroad?

Whilst you can book a local photographer in the country you're getting married in. Sometimes this may cause some hiccups later down the line such as language barriers, clash in style of photography and less of a personal connection. The advantage of a documentary wedding photographer from the UK is you have the opportunity to communicate multiples times before the big day. So you know exactly what to expect and also build up a great connection with your photographer. For these reasons you might want to consider booking a UK destination Wedding Photographer. It is also very affordable as I only charge an additional £500 on top of my full-day package to cover all my travel expenses.

Are you feeling inspired by the weddings in Italy? It might be worth checking out my work as a Valencia Wedding Photographer, or this incredible wedding in Malaga!

“Tom was the best choice we could dream of for our wedding in Valencia, Spain. Reliable, professional and skillful. Great taste and every single photography provided was just awesome. He can work on his own without a big team as he knows exactly what he has to do. Couldn’t recommend him enough!!!!”

PHOTOGRAPHY

IN ITALY

I photograph weddings in a documentary style, which means I capture the moments of your special day in a natural and unobtrusive way. I believe the best photos always come when people are unaware of the camera and are 100% themselves.

Weddings should be a celebration for the bride and groom and not a long boring photo shoot. I like to blend into the day as much as possible and hopefully I will feel like one of your guests.

I won’t be showing up with multiple tripods, huge telephoto lenses or light stands. Instead, I carry just two Canon cameras attached to each hip, allowing me to stay lightweight and move swiftly to capture all the natural moments of your wedding.

All I ask is that you and your wedding party enjoy yourselves! I will make sure I am in the right place at the right time to capture all the action at your wedding!
